About Chernick Consulting in West Los Angeles

Hi, I'm Paul Chernick

I am a creative, versatile software engineer with more than twenty five years of experience developing software on multiple platforms. I have extensive experience in most phases of the software development life cycle, including project initiation, gathering and managing requirements, functional specification, high level and detailed design, coding, integration testing and debugging.

I won't say computers are my life, but I will say that computers were my hobby before they were my career. When I was 10 years old I was programming an old Scientific Data Systems 910 in assembly language at the Los Angeles Museum of Science and Industry.

Computers became a true hobby in the mid 1970's and I got my BS in Computer Science from an accredited program at a local state university in 1985. Computers are both a career and a hobby now.

I started my career as a computer work room assistant in 1982. In 1983 I was promoted from student assistant to student specialist and moved to the main computer center as a computer consultant for the other computer work room assistants (the consultant's consultant).

In 1984 I was a summer intern for a very high tech firm which was then located in the San Fernando Valley. That summer was 15 years long. From October 1999 until October 2009 I worked in the IT department of a major Financial Services conglomerate.
